Clarence (Clare) A. Marcero, Jr., 80, of Marysville, died peacefully at his home on June 28 surrounded by his beloved wife of 53 years, his children, and grandchildren. Clare was born in Marysville on December 11, 1931, son of the late Clarence and Anna Marcero. He was a member of the Naval Reserve, serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Lennaway in the Pacific, as a Morse code operator. He married the love of his life, Nancy Napolitan in 1958 and worked as a supervisor for the Detroit Edison Power Plant for over 42 years, before retiring in 1991. He was a man of great integrity who will forever be remembered for his patience, sense of humor, kindness, and willingness to always lend a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbors.
He was an avid hunter, gardener, and self-taught carpenter, who enjoyed using his remarkable skills to work on projects for his family and friends.
Clare is survived by his wife and best friend, Nancy Ann (Napolitan) Marcero, six children, Michael (Nancy) Marcero, Lisa Marcero, Linda (John) Santo, David (Carrie) Marcero, Mary (Harold) Nelson, Stephen( Julie) Marcero. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great grandson.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph’s church in Port Huron, Michigan, on July 2nd at 10:00 a.m with visitation at 9am. Funeral arrangements handled by Smith Family Funeral Home North. Visiting hours: Sunday, July 1st from 2 -4 and 6- 8 at the funeral home. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital, Blue Water Hospice or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
