Robert (Bob) Kruse, 78, of Port Huron, passed away on January 4, 2021 at Lake Huron Medical Center in Port Huron.
He was born on October 14, 1942 to the late William and Marie Kruse in Port Huron.
Bob attended St. Stephens High School class of 1961, Port Huron Jr. College, and Central Michigan University class of 1968. He was a middle school teacher for 30 years. During his summers, he traveled the world. After he retired, he became a runner and competed in the Chicago Marathon. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy.
He is survived by his sister, Sandy Thomas; brother, Jim Kruse; nieces, Kimberly (Gary) Cooper and Tina (Dan) Sterling; nephew, Scott (Tammy) Thomas; as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Donations may be made to the Old Newsboys, Alzheimer’s Association, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
A graveside service will take place on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeside Cemetery in Port Huron. Cremation arrangements were provided by Smith Family Funeral Home of Port Huron.
