Obituary

Ronald Lee Spoutz

68, of Grant Township, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020, at McLaren Macomb Hospital surrounded by his loving family after many years of battling a heart condition.

He was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan on May 20, 1951, son of the late Edward and Margaret (Bachelor) Spoutz.

He resided in East Detroit for 51 years before moving to Grant Township.

Ronald married his high school sweetheart Margaret Zeiman on October 1, 1971.

Ron was a hardworking man that loved and enjoyed life. He never took time off of work, and was very dedicated to his career. Ron liked hunting with the boys, being up north at the cabin, cooking, and woodworking. He loved spending time with his wife Margaret and watching his grandchildren grow up.

Surviving in addition to Margaret his loving wife of 48 years are his children, Jeff (Lindsey) Spoutz of Avoca, Carolyn (Steve) Richards of Avoca, and Kevin Spoutz of Memphis; grandchildren, Arron, Zack, Jordan, Nolan, Addison, Carter, Kendra, Hunter, and Ava; two great-grandchildren, Mila and Camille; siblings, Robert (Mary) Spoutz, Rose Call, Delores (Monty) Carolan, Douglas (Janis) Spoutz, Yvonne (Steve) Leath, Kristine (William) Drenning, and Regina Spoutz; sister-in-law, Penny Spoutz; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jeffrey Jr.; and three brothers, Herbert, Kenneth, and Keith "Butch" Spoutz.

The family honors the memory of Ronald and invites you to visit and share memories on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Smith Family Funeral Home-Hancock Street. A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m at St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church in Lakeport. Fr. Lee Acervo will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
